There are 4 types of positions in CCA ASB: appointed positions, elected positions, executive president/vice president, and general member.
Appointed, Elected, and Executive President/VP position applications are due Wednesday, March 20th at 3:30 PM.
General member applications are due Friday, April 19th at 3:30 PM.

Appointed PositionsExecutive Treasurer: The Executive Treasurer is responsible for the ASB budget and is a member of the Executive Committee. The Executive Treasurer manages the committee’s budget, follows and instructs other ASB members in correct finance procedures, and oversees all committees in the management of their budgets. The Treasurer manages inventory of classroom supplies, and reorders materials as needed. This position provides an opportunity to take a strong leadership position at CCA and within ASB. The Executive Treasurer is expected to embody the positive and spirited culture of CCA, and be dedicated to improving the school community as per the CCA ASB mission statement.
Executive Secretary: The Executive Secretary’s responsibilities include recording ASB council meeting minutes, organizing the meeting agenda, maintaining the CCA ASB online calendar, and ensuring all ASB committees are completing their event paperwork. The Executive Secretary is a member of the Executive Committee and is expected to take an active role in fulfilling the duties of the committee described above. The Executive Secretary is expected to embody the positive and spirited culture of CCA, and be dedicated to improving the school community as per the CCA ASB mission statement. Commissioner of Technology: The Commissioner of Technology is in charge of updating the ASB website, organizing class emails, and developing online elements of various ASB events. The Commissioner of Technology is also responsible for updating the ASB app, student webstore, and developing ASB’s online presence within the school community. Position Prerequisites and Conditions:
Executive President/VPExecutive President: The Executive President is the leader of the ASB class as manager of the Executive Committee, and acts as a liaison between ASB and the entire student body. The Executive Committee’s classroom duties include running weekly council meetings, managing and mentoring ASB students in other committees, planning major school events (i.e., Spirit Week, Pep Rally, Election Week), and ensuring ASB runs smoothly and effectively per the ASB Constitution and Rules. The Executive President also has obligations to Canyon Crest Academy, such as leading campus tours, hosting monthly Student Senate meetings, and communicating on behalf of ASB with administrators. The Executive President represents CCA ASB at weekly district board meetings, where he or she provides input on behalf of the student body. This position provides an opportunity to take a strong leadership position at CCA and within ASB. The Executive President is expected to embody the positive and spirited culture of CCA, and be dedicated to improving the school community as per the CCA ASB mission statement.
Executive Vice President: The Executive Vice President’s main duty is the oversight and approval of all publicity on campus. The Executive Vice President is a member of the Executive Committee and is expected to take an active role in fulfilling the duties of the committee described above. The Executive Vice President is expected to embody the positive and spirited culture of CCA, and be dedicated to improving the school community as per the CCA ASB mission statement. Elected PositionsClass Officers: The class Presidents and Vice Presidents act as a bridge between ASB and their respective high school classes. Working together, they run regularly scheduled Student Senate meetings to discuss, with the senators of their grade, class events such as bondings and fundraisers, and lead biweekly grade level meetings with other ASB members in the same class. Class officers are responsible for raising the funds required in order to support a successful senior week. Class officers are role models for their grades; having a positive spirited manner can drastically change the whole behavior of the entire class. The senior class officers are also members of the senior committee in ASB, and spend an extensive amount of time planning senior week events.
Commissioner of Clubs: The Commissioner of Clubs is the liaison between ASB and the many clubs on campus. His or her primary responsibilities include organizing club applications, hosting ASB events such as Club Day, being familiar with the procedures clubs must follow, and answering the many questions clubs have every day. The Commissioner of Clubs is ideal for someone who is an effective communicator and has a passion for supporting the clubs and their various interests. Commissioner of Sports: The Commissioner of Sports is the leader of the Raven Nation. This position is about amplifying the energy devoted toward supporting CCA sports. Being Commissioner of Sports involves extensive communication and publicity (often via social media), interacting with CCA coaches, and staying informed about the many sports events CCA teams participate in. Commissioner of Arts: The Commissioner of Arts serves as a liaison between ASB and the Envision programs on campus. They are in charge of communicating regularly with Arts programs, leading the Special Events Committee in ASB to execute various arts-centered events and student participation centered activities. General MembersASB Personal Responsibilities:
By enrolling in ASB, you must be willing and able to devote time and energy toward ASB events on and off campus. You should be open to learning leadership skills and want to become an effective member of your committee. Committee work in ASB focuses on achieving both short term and long term goals through events and other committee activities. In achieving these goals, you will become a more effective leader, planner, communicator, and organizer. You are expected to be an impactful member of your committee; this requires working well in groups and being autonomous, as needed. You will get more out of your experience in ASB if you apply yourself and put more effort into your work. Enthusiasm and spirit are key to having a satisfying and successful semester in ASB.
